Can’t find it? We can probably get it. Ask Us
It’s that time of year when things start to heat up. No, I’m not only talking about the weather, although it’s a factor that makes our industry always busy between now and fall. More people drive during the warmer months, putting additional wear and tear on the fueling equipment, which requires increased maintenance. The warmer weather also allows for a better environment for construction, especially up north.
Our sales team, along with the products team, is busy forecasting demand to ensure we can quickly fulfill orders. Our sourcing team has spent a fair amount of time educating themselves on Harmonized Tariff Schedules (HTS codes). Updates to the tariff amounts are being made weekly, if not daily. Our Freedom Engineered products have become very popular, and we have several contingencies in place to keep costs reasonable. At least one of the OEMs has already added two tariff surcharges.
Our LEAN transformation is progressing steadily, and our teams are starting to feel the benefits. After a successful 5S effort, workstations are more organized, and tools and materials are readily available. Last month, we began deploying Lean Daily Management.
Our eCommerce platform is quickly becoming the go-to resource for finding key petroleum parts. We are now at a point where we can migrate customers who shopped on the legacy platform to reap the benefits of our new shopping experience. If you’re not yet ready to make the jump, don’t worry – you’ll still be able to access the legacy site. You may need to bookmark a new link. I’m sure you’ll prefer the new shopping experience, and I’d love to hear any suggestions for improvements.
Until next time,

We stock your core inventory in our warehouse, so you don’t have to stock it in yours. We collaborate with you to design a program tailored to your needs, providing real-time inventory status via our website and automatically applying cores to orders. This approach ensures you maximize savings without the hassle of core management.
In the field, simplicity isn’t just a time-saver—it’s a game-changer. The KISS principle (“Keep It Simple, Stupid”) is more than a catchy phrase. It’s a mindset that helps techs like you solve problems faster, more efficiently, and with fewer errors. Here’s how to apply it effectively:
Avoid chasing every symptom or side issue. Start by identifying the core issue and stay on track. Distractions only lead to lost time and misdiagnoses. Stay focused and solve one problem at a time.
Start simple: record the symptoms, note any error codes, and refer to manufacturer documentation or diagnostic tools. Combine that with your experience to pinpoint the most straightforward solution—no need to overcomplicate things.
Begin with the most likely causes. This helps you eliminate simple fixes early and builds momentum. It also boosts your confidence, knowing you’ve covered the basics before diving into more complex scenarios.
Stick with reliable, job-specific tools. A cluttered toolbox full of rarely used gadgets can slow you down and distract from the task at hand. The right tool, used the right way, leads to faster and cleaner results.
Overcomplicating your approach increases the risk of errors and unnecessary work. A simple, methodical fix is often the most reliable one. It saves time, reduces frustration, and improves the quality of your service.
Simplicity isn’t laziness—it’s smart work. Apply the KISS principle and you’ll troubleshoot faster, fix better, and leave customers more satisfied.
