Investing in How We Serve
As we move into the final months of 2026, one of our continued areas of focus at Freedom Electronics is the customer experience.
Our customers place a great deal of trust in us—not only to provide the products they need, but to be responsive, knowledgeable, and easy to do business with. We take that responsibility seriously. One of the best ways we can honor that trust is by continuing to reinvest in the people, tools, and capabilities that allow us to serve our customers better.
An important part of that investment is our team.
We continue to add talent across the organization while also creating opportunities for our existing employees to grow and develop. As Freedom expands, we want to make sure the experience of doing business with us continues to improve right along with the company.
This month’s Employee Spotlight is a great example. Dontee Ray, our Customer Service Manager, brings significant experience in customer service leadership, process improvement, coaching, and team development. Since joining Freedom, he has already introduced new tools to help our team evaluate service levels more consistently while spending time one-on-one with team members to help them continue developing their skills.
Great customer service is about much more than answering the phone quickly or processing an order. It means having knowledgeable people who understand our products, communicate clearly, solve problems, and take ownership of helping customers get what they need. We want every interaction with Freedom to reinforce the confidence our customers place in us.
Our investment in serving customers also extends beyond Customer Service. We continue to build our capabilities in engineering, product development, operations, and other areas that directly support the customer experience. In many cases, the best service we can provide is solving a problem before it ever becomes a service call.
This month’s Product Spotlight illustrates that approach.
Our new Freedom Engineered FE-WU003091-0002 Nozzle Boot was developed after our engineering team examined common failure points in the OEM design. Rather than simply creating another replacement part, the team looked for ways to improve the design itself and address issues that can lead to premature failure in the field.
This philosophy is central to how we think about product development at Freedom: understand the application, learn from what happens in the field, and look for opportunities to create a better solution.
And that’s where we’d like your help: If you encounter a product that isn’t performing the way it should, is becoming difficult to source, or simply costs far more than it should, give us a call. We’re excited to shine this month’s employee spotlight on Dontee Ray, our new Customer Service Manager.
Dontee brings extensive experience in customer service leadership, contact center operations, process improvement, and team development. Throughout his career, he has led high-performing teams, improved operational processes, and focused on creating strong customer experiences through coaching, accountability, and collaboration.
Since joining the team, Dontee has already made a positive impact on Customer Service. He created a QA scorecard to evaluate service levels and promote a more consistent customer experience. He has also prioritized building strong relationships with Customer Service Representatives by taking time to establish rapport and understand the team’s needs.
Dontee also provides one-on-one feedback and coaching, helping team members recognize their strengths, identify opportunities for growth, and continue developing their skills. This hands-on leadership style reflects his strong background in performance management and employee development, including structured one-on-one meetings, coaching, and professional development planning.
We’re excited to have Dontee on the team and look forward to the continued impact of his leadership on both our employees and the customers we serve.
Spill buckets are an important part of every fuel station. They are designed to catch small amounts of fuel that may escape when a delivery hose is disconnected. Unfortunately, spill buckets are often neglected until equipment fails, a fuel delivery is affected, or an inspector shows up.
Spending a few minutes each week removing liquid and debris from the spill buckets and inspecting them for signs of damage can provide several important benefits:
Protect the Environment
Keeping spill buckets clean and routinely checking their condition is a simple way to help prevent releases and protect the property and surrounding environment. Fuel releases into soil or groundwater can become an expensive environmental problem and may require professional cleanup.
Prevent Contamination
Water, dirt, leaves, and other debris can accumulate in the bucket. If the bucket is already full of debris or liquid, there is less room to contain a fuel spill. This accumulation can also make it difficult to determine whether the liquid in the bucket is water, fuel, or a mixture of both. A leaking drain valve or damaged riser can allow contaminated liquid to enter the tank, potentially contaminating the fuel.
Prevent Corrosion
Standing water and fuel can cause corrosion of the spill bucket, fittings, and other components such as the riser. Corrosion can eventually lead to cracks, holes, or deterioration that prevents the bucket from properly containing a spill and leads to higher maintenance costs.
Make Inspections Easier
A clean spill bucket allows employees and technicians to quickly identify problems. Cracks, damaged seals, loose fittings, corrosion, or other defects can be difficult to see when the bucket is filled with dirt or liquid. Regular cleaning makes it much easier to spot problems before they become significant. And, of course, regulatory inspectors will appreciate finding clean and well-maintained spill buckets.
A few minutes of routine maintenance can go a long way. Keeping spill buckets clean and inspecting them regularly helps prevent contamination, identify problems early, protect the environment, and keep fuel deliveries running smoothly.

Steve Rivera and Louis Ayala-Profil recently traveled to our Georgia facility to share best practices developed in Florida for preparing circuit boards before repair. During the week-long visit, Steve and Louis worked closely with Jack Friedman to provide hands-on training, standardize preparation procedures, and implement the Georgia facility’s ultrasonic cleaner. Through strong teamwork and knowledge sharing, the team successfully established consistent circuit board preparation procedures across both locations, improving quality and supporting greater efficiency throughout our repair operations.
